A little about who built this site, where the thinking comes from, and how to get in touch.
Jeremy Olson is based in Auckland, New Zealand. His work sits at the meeting point of two things: a research training in what makes for a good quality of life, and a practitioner's grounding in the gentle, solution-oriented therapeutic tradition — the same tradition that shapes the guided imagery on this site.
He also has no lived experience of spinal cord injury or stroke, the subjects of the companion sites. He isn't speaking as someone who has been through this condition, and he doesn't claim the particular authority that comes from that.
What he brings instead is a background in quality-of-life research and years of work in the Ericksonian, solution-oriented tradition — brought together here into a set of practices offered in good faith, and openly labelled throughout as a personal synthesis rather than a tested clinical protocol. The research and bibliography pages lay out exactly what the evidence does and doesn't support.
The practices on this site are free and self-guided, and always will be — you never need to work with Jeremy to use any of them. For some people, though, a personal, one-to-one session in the solution-oriented tradition can be a helpful complement to the recorded practices.
Placeholder — for Jeremy to complete. The specifics of what working with Jeremy involves (session format, whether sessions are online or in person, availability, and any fees) haven't been set on this page yet. This section is a placeholder to be filled in with those details before the site goes live, so that nothing here overstates or invents what's on offer.
